Colorado High Alpine Circuit + 14er
Breckenridge → Copper → Frisco → Vail → Minturn → Breckenridge
The Itinerary
Meet in Breckenridge
Everyone meets in Breckenridge on the evening of the first day. Check into your lodge - arrive any time. Welcome meeting covering all the adventure details, then dinner together as a group at a delicious local spot. Breakfast for the next morning is at the lodge.

Breckenridge to Copper
We leave Breckenridge from the lodge's front door, quickly trading town for pine forests, open meadows, and Francie's Cabin. From there we set our sights upon Wheeler Pass, our first high alpine pass of the adventure, situated between Peak 8 and Peak 9. We have wide open views of the surrounding mountain ranges before beginning the descent towards Copper Mountain, where we arrive on foot to our accommodation for the evening.
Copper to Frisco
After breakfast we walk to the south end of the Gore Range Trail. The trail winds past clear alpine lakes, meadows, high alpine tundra, before crossing Uneva Pass (11,900 ft). From Uneva, we are rewarded with sweeping views of the high country we crossed yesterday and a glimpse of what's ahead. We drop down the valley towards Frisco, hiking along a beautiful creek. We finish the day by walking into town, or hopping on the free bus for the last stint.

Frisco to Vail
A short shuttle drops us at the trailhead, where we climb through aspen forests and emerge into the open high country near the treeline. We jump from high alpine basin to basin, as we cross two mountain passes offering big views in every direction. We meet the Gore Creek Trail, where a shuttle takes us the short distance into Vail.
Rest Day in Vail
Rest DayA second night in Vail and a full day to explore everything the mountain town has to offer. Breakfast is included at the hotel; lunch and dinner are on your own - this is your chance to explore Vail's restaurants, shops, and trails at your own pace. Use the day to recharge, wander, or create your own adventure!

Vail to Minturn
We leave on foot and hike up Vail resort, foraging along Berry Picker Trail to the Holy Cross lookout post where we can enjoy a mid-morning snack and jaw dropping views of the area. We hike towards the historical town of Minturn, passing open alpine bowls and eventually pine forests. We lodge in Minturn for the night - free breakfast the next morning. Dinner is on your own - a chance to see the quiet side of Colorado.
Reach the summit of a 14er → Return to Breck
One of the most anticipated days of the adventure takes us high above treeline to stand on the summit of a Colorado 14er. We'll have a few legendary peaks to choose from, giving us the flexibility to match the route to the weather, conditions, and group. No matter what summit we take on, expect high alpine terrain, never-ending views, and the highest point of our journey. We will feast on a well-deserved meal back in Breckenridge that evening.

Finish in Breckenridge - Cheers & Goodbyes
Finished! We will get together for our last breakfast this morning, telling stories and cherishing our memories. Time to say farewell, and until the next trail!
We reserve the right to modify the planned route at any time, including on a day-to-day basis, due to weather, trail or area closures, trail conditions, wildfires, and emergency situations. Common Questions
Is this tour for me?
If you can hike 6–12 miles a day with 1,500–3,000 ft of elevation gain and want the full Colorado high country experience - including summiting a 14er - this is your adventure. Our 8-week training plan will get you ready.
What if I'm traveling solo?
Many guests join solo. You'll be paired with a roommate (double occupancy) or can opt for single occupancy. Groups are capped at 10, and friendships form fast on the trail.
I've never done a multi-day hiking adventure - can I do this?
Yes, with preparation. Our guides pace the group and handle all logistics. You carry only a daypack - we move your bags, plan the route, and arrange every meal and lodge.
What about my baggage?
We transfer your luggage between lodges every day. You hike with just a daypack - water, snacks, layers, and personal items. Your bags are waiting when you arrive.
What about altitude?
We start at 9,600 ft and go higher. We recommend arriving a day early to acclimate. Our Wilderness First Responder certified guides monitor everyone and adjusts pace as needed.
What about the 14er summit?
Our chosen 14er is one of Colorado's most accessible. We start early, pace ourselves, and our guides make the summit call based on weather and conditions. Safety always comes first.
What if the weather turns?
Our guides have deep local knowledge of Colorado and Wilderness First Responder certification. They make every weather and route decision - if conditions warrant, we adjust the plan.
